The 1st Workshop on Finite Fields and Applications (WCFA) was held between September 4th and 6th, 2019, in Uberlândia - MG. The first edition of the event was attended by 55 people, including professors. researchers, postgraduate students and undergraduate students. Among the activities, there were 21 lectures given by various researchers and students and 3 plenary lectures, given by researchers: : Daniel Panario (Carleton University - Canadá), Fabio Brochero (UFMG - Brasil) and Fernando Torres (UNICAMP - Brasil).
The 2nd WCFA, held between September 20th and 24th, 2021, and took place entirely virtually due to the Covid 19 Pandemic. The event was attended by 187 researchers from different countries. In addition to Brazilian participants, there was a large number of researchers from countries such as the USA, Canada, Mexico, Peru, Italy, Argentina and Colombia. In addition to the 20 contribution lectures, the event featured 4 plenary conferences, given by researchers: Massimo Giulietti (Universita di Perugia - Italy), Maria Bras-Amorós (Universitat Rovira i Virgili - Spain), Carlos Munuera (Universidad de Valladolid - Spain) and Saeed Tafazolian (University of Campinas - Brazil).
The 3rd WCFA was held in person between the 5th and 9th of September in São Carlos - SP. The event was attended by speakers from Canada, Italy and Argentina. In total, there were 31 lectures, 5 poster presentations and 5 plenary lectures, given by researchers: Daniel Panario (Carleton University - Canada), Gábor Korchmáros (Università della Basilicata - Italy), Juliane Capaverde (UFRGS - Brazil), Luciane Quoos (UFRJ - Brazil) and Ricardo Podestá (Universidad Nacional de Córdoba - Argentina).
